RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC2 BRAIN with DRAGON-X 6K S35 sensor combining high-performance video recording in a compact package, is part of RED's unified DSMC2 line. Almost limitless lens options are available for the DSMC2 system. While a separate lens mount is required for this camera, the DSMC lens mounts themselves are available in a variety of options for compatibility with a wide range of lens systems.

REDCODE RAW is the preferred format for DSMC2 cameras. RED's versatile raw codec uses wavelet compression to reduce data rate while maintaining image rendering without visual loss. This efficient codec can be edited in many available non-linear editing programs without transcoding; although you can also record in ProRes or DNx if you prefer. Lowering the recording resolution allows the sensor to capture higher frame rates for impressive slow-motion footage. DSMC2 cameras use the sensor window to record slow motion at a lower resolution, requiring wider or smaller lenses to compensate for the extra framing. Recording speeds range from 12 fps and up, including 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps and up.

RED DSMC2 V-LOCK I/O Expander RED DSMC2 V-LOCK I/O Expander - is more than just a way to power your camera, it provides a variety of input/output connections in addition to a V-Lock mount for your DSMC2 camera. The Expander is made of magnesium, so it is lightweight yet durable. It allows you to power your camera from a battery with the V-Lock mount or an alternative DC power source via cable, and you can set it to automatically boot the camera once power is connected. It has 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs, as well as control and sync outputs.

Built-in USB outputs and additional power outputs allow you to connect accessories and limit the number of splitter blocks and power converters hanging off your camera. Sound is not forgotten by RED, and the Expander has both an analog stereo input and a stereo headphone jack. It is compatible with the WEAPON 8K S35, WEAPON 6K, as well as the EPIC/SCARLET-W and RAVEN.

RED DIGITAL CINEMA Touch 4.7″ LCD display is designed for cableless mounting on some DSMC2 RED cameras and has a resolution of 1280 x 720. The LCD design provides a good off-axis view of up to 160°, with 80° left, right, up. , or down, so you don't need to focus directly on the viewfinder to see the optimal image.The LCD features multi-touch controls with hard navigation buttons on the side.

RED Digital Cinema DSMC2 Outrigger Handle attaches to your camera's DSMC2 top handle port, giving you a secure support grip, holding the camera with one hand while leaving the other hand free to adjust the lens. This grip features a built-in start/stop button in the ergonomic handle. Mounted to the camera with two hex head screws, the handles' built-in electronic connectors provide a cable-free connection. The handle also has fourteen 1/4″-20 threaded holes for attaching accessories at the top.
