Add professional monitoring and high quality recording to virtually any camera with the 7-inch Video Assist 12G-SDI/HDMI HDR recording monitor from Blackmagic Design . It features a bright 7-inch display with 1920 x 1200 resolution and 2500 cd/m² brightness. frame and focus your shots, and has 12G-SDI and HDMI inputs for recording video from professional and consumer cameras. The monitor also features two balanced 3-pin mini-XLR inputs with 48V phantom power support for clear audio recording. You can monitor and record HDR video up to DCI 4K, UHD 4K, 2K or HD 10-bit 4:2:2 and up to 16 channels of built-in 24-bit 48kHz audio.
Video Assist records using two high-speed UHS-II SD slots to SDHC/XC memory cards. You can also use the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port to record to an external drive, and use it to set up and update your monitor. Video is recorded using industry-standard Apple ProRes (HQ, 422, LT or Proxy) and Avid DNxHD and DNxHR codecs.
The monitor's touchscreen interface allows you to customize settings and access monitoring functions such as histogram, oscillogram, RGB parade, vectoroscope, and many other area and exposure tools. There is also an indicator light at the top of the monitor to indicate that it is running and recording. A 12-volt power supply is included to power the monitor. It also has two battery slots on the rear panel to power the monitor with separately available Sony L-series type batteries.
When you update the firmware to version 3.3, Blackmagic introduced a USB output for the webcam, so the monitor can send the full 1080p signal to your computer via USB in an easy-to-stream format. Audio monitoring channel selection has also been added. This 7-inch version also supports XLR audio conversion to different channels and external XLR time code.
